Note from the Mrs...

Okay...Monty has trouble acccessing this at work so here I am...and let me tell you, if he were at home to do this, he still would not because he would be at the gym. So, I thought Iwould give you all, the wifes take on what is happening in our home and to my husband....

Goodbye chips, goodbye cookies, goodbye ice cream, goodbye real white bread, goodbye sugar, good bye sweet tea...oh how I miss thee.... goodbye cake, goodbye pie, goodbye pasta...goodbye, goodbye, goodbye....farewell old friends!!!

Yeah...that is what its been like in our home!!! We have replaced all of the old comforts of home with new lower calorie foods, the sweet tea with water and more water, the white flour for whole grain...etc.

Here is how Monty has acheived his success thus far...he is in the gym 4 to 6 days per week...no less than 2 hours everytime he goes...when he started I think 30 minutes was the max cardio he could do...now he is up to about and hour and a half cardio and his full weight routine. He ROCKS!!! He changes his routine up....to get his 1 1/2 hours of cardio he may do the following...30 minutes on the eliptical, 30 on the treadmill...running for 2 minutes every 10...yes I said running...and 30 more on the eliptical or the bike.

Our food choices at home have come down to chicken and fish and fresh, steamed veggies. If you have not been turned on to teh Ziplock Steamer pouches....let me direct you to isle 3 at Walmart...they are a lifesaver...literally!! We buy the individually quick frozen chicken breast and that piece of meat can go from frozen to plate in 8 minutes with fabulous results!! In another back put some fresh veggies and a little seasoning and steam for about 6 minutes and you have dinner. The othe great beauty of this is that if all three of us want different flavors...we can have it...just add spices to your own bag and go. Another tidbit...in the frozen fish freezer at walmart...you know, over by the evil bakery department...they have a potatoe crusted cod or tilapia...can't remember....it is like 160 calories per piece and the taste is over the top!!!!

His late night ice cream has turned into a plate of banana, apple and raw carrots...

His triple meat, triple cheese burger and fries for lunch has turned into a grilled chicken breast sub on whole wheat from subway...

Christmas vacation, we spent 2 weeks in florida and spent nearly every morning at the gym in the hotel....he is dedicated and he is committed!!

As his wife, I am here to tell you...he is the real deal, he is committed to making this work...now, it is my turn to step up and go along side him!!!!

Getting Serious

Well I have been at this since September and have lost 65 pounds time to step it up and hit it hard to reach my 130 pounds of loss goal.
